Today myself and Max started and finished recording for the piano part of If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. We did this in the studio using a Mixing Desk, Apple Mac and Logic (recording software).

Last week Myself and Max began recording for our second song How to Save a Life by The Fray. We did this in the studio using a Mixing Desk, Apple Mac and Logic (recording software). The other equipment we needed to use was a Drum kit, Dynamic Microphones and Condenser Microphones including an SM57 and AKG-1000. XLR cables were used to connect the mic's to an outlet that was connected to the mixing desk and Mac. We put 8 tracks on logic because thats how many mics were set up and each mic picks up a different part of the drum kit. Before we started to record the song we needed to do a sound check to make sure all parts of the drum kit were being played at the correct sound level. I had to either turn up or turn down the volume depending on how loud it was, it is very important to make sure no instrument "clips" on red. After the sound check was complete we began recording the song, to do this we played the song itself through Tom's headset so he could play the drum...
